Rules: how Wisdom of Athena 1000 Xmas works
Wisdom of Athena 1000 Xmas runs on a grid of 6 reels and 6 rows. There are no fixed paylines: as soon as at least 8 matching symbols appear anywhere on the screen, they pay. The more matching symbols, the higher the payout; the values per symbol are listed in the paytable.
After every win the winning symbols disappear and new ones drop in from above (tumble or cascade). A single spin can therefore trigger several wins in a row until no new combination forms.
The return to player (RTP) of the standard version is 96%. That is an average over a very large number of spins, not a promise for a single session. Casinos may run versions with a lower RTP; the in-game info menu shows the value that applies.
The maximum win is capped at 10,000x your stake. At €1 per spin that would be €10,000; if a bonus reaches the cap, the round ends automatically.
Free spins, features and bonus round
At the start of each spin the top row is locked; consecutive tumbles unlock its positions one after another before the lock returns at the end of the spin. Multipliers up to 1,000x can land at any time and are combined when several appear together. In the free spins, triggered by four or more scatters, all multipliers go into a total that applies to every win in the round.
Scatter symbols trigger the free spins. How many scatters you need and how many spins you get is shown in the paytable; in most games of this kind the free spins can be retriggered during the bonus.
Multipliers boost wins in this game many times over. What matters is whether they apply to a single win only or add up during the free spins: that difference is exactly what makes the bonus round so swingy.

Wisdom of Athena 1000 Xmas with the BlazeBet bonus: wagering and a worked example
At BlazeBet, slots count 100% towards the welcome bonus wagering (100% up to €1,000, 15x wagering, 30 days). Wisdom of Athena 1000 Xmas is therefore suitable for clearing the bonus.
A worked example with real numbers: with a €100 bonus and 15x wagering on the bonus, you need to wager €1,500. At €0.50 per spin, that is 3,000 spins. With an RTP of 96%, the theoretical loss over that stretch is about €60.00. If BlazeBet counts deposit plus bonus, the total wager and the expected loss double.
With very high volatility, the balance can run out before the free spins arrive. A smaller stake per spin stretches the budget over more rounds.
Volatility, hit rate and budget
According to published game data, about 26.53% of spins end in a win, so on average every 3.8th spin. Many of those hits are smaller than the stake, though.
As a rough rule of thumb for a game with very high volatility: plan a budget for about 400 spins, which at €0.50 per spin is €200. That gives you a reasonable chance of seeing the bonus round. Set a limit and a time frame beforehand, and do not raise your stake to chase losses.
An alternative to Gates of Olympus Xmas 1000 with a bigger grid. Note the 96.0% RTP, slightly below average.
