Rules: how a round of Blackjack Live works
The aim is to get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Number cards count their face value, picture cards count 10, and the ace counts 1 or 11. An ace and a ten-value card as your first two cards make a blackjack.
After your first two cards you decide: take a card (hit), stay (stand), double down or split a pair. The dealer draws by fixed rules until reaching at least 17. If you go over 21 you lose immediately, even if the dealer busts as well.
| Bet | Payout |
|---|---|
| Regular win | 1:1 |
| Blackjack | 3:2 |
| Insurance (dealer shows an ace) | 2:1 |
| Tie (push) | stake returned |
What makes Blackjack Live different
It is usually played with eight decks, a blackjack pays 3:2 and insurance 2:1. If you follow basic strategy, meaning you hit, stand, double down or split depending on your hand and the dealer's card, you push the house edge down to around half a percent.
