Rules: how a round of Free Bet Blackjack works
The aim is to get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Number cards count their face value, picture cards count 10, and the ace counts 1 or 11. An ace and a ten-value card as your first two cards make a blackjack.
After your first two cards you decide: take a card (hit), stay (stand), double down or split a pair. The dealer draws by fixed rules until reaching at least 17. If you go over 21 you lose immediately, even if the dealer busts as well.
| Bet | Payout |
|---|---|
| Regular win | 1:1 |
| Blackjack | 3:2 |
| Insurance (dealer shows an ace) | 2:1 |
| Tie (push) | stake returned |
What makes Free Bet Blackjack different
On a hard 9, 10 or 11 with two cards you get a free double down, and you may split all pairs except 10s, jacks, queens and kings for free. The free bets are offered automatically when your hand meets the condition. To balance this, the variant uses adjusted rules for the dealer.
